Applicant Requirements: Must be Cambrian student and not have attempted or failed the course you want to PLAR.

Credit award limits: It is possible to achieve a maximum of 75% of a college program through the PLAR process.
Assessment methods: Various methods are used alone, or in combination, to assess learning. Assessment methods include challenge exams, portfolios, interviews, assignments and essays, presentations, and performance assessments.
Steps in PLAR process: Meet with pathways officer. Review course outline and complete self- assessment. Meet with PLAR assessor. If they approve, register for assessment and pay fee.
Student support provided: You will have the support of the Pathways Officer as well as the Program Coordinator from your program of choice. Students with disabilities are eligible for accommodations.
Withdrawing from process: Information not available.
Credit recognition on transcripts: Successful PLAR credits are transcribed with a grade in the same manner that course grades are transcribed. Unsuccessful PLAR attempts are not recorded on the student’s transcript.
