Fees: $160.85 per course and is non-refundable.

Types of PLAR offered: Course specific.

Credit award limits: For certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, and graduate certificate programs, no more than 75% of program credits can be obtained through recognition of prior learning. For degree programs, no more than 50% of program credits can be obtained through recognition of prior learning.

Assessment methods: Centennial College uses two methods to assess PLAR, portfolio assessments and challenge assessments.

Steps in PLAR process: Contact Academic school for course outlines and faculty info. Complete self-assessment and if you qualify meet with faculty assessor. Complete PLAR form and pay fees. Complete PLAR assessment.

Credit recognition on transcripts: PLAR credits receive a grade, and they appear on your transcript in the same way credits earned though Centennial college coursework appear.
