ONCAT COVID-19 Update

Supporting Student Mobility During COVID-19

The Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer office is closed temporarily in response to COVID-19 and directives from public health agencies. However, ONCAT staff are working remotely and fulfilling all normal services to create strong academic pathways and reduce barriers for students in Ontario.

ONCAT’s Statement

The Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer acknowledges the tremendous efforts made by Ontario’s colleges, universities, and Indigenous institutes as they respond to the needs of current and incoming students during this particularly challenging time. We are encouraged by the flexibility and compassion demonstrated by all our sector partners and inspired by the collective efforts being made to support student success and course and credential completion.

As the provincial organization created to enhance academic pathways and reduce barriers for students looking to transfer, ONCAT plays a crucial role in supporting our provincial transfer system in times of change. We work to build a fair and equitable system, supported by policies and practices, that allows students to transfer between postsecondary institutions with relative ease. We will continue to collaborate with our sector partners to foster approaches that allow students to receive the maximum credit recognition for commensurate academic learning and to promote positive student experiences at all stages of the transfer journey.

We will be updating both ONCAT.ca and ONTransfer.ca during this period to provide helpful information to transfer students and our sector partners.
