Abstract

Executive Summary

The University of Sudbury, the University of Saint-Paul and York University - Glendon Campus, have all committed to encouraging excellence in learning, to providing opportunities for training and to increase access to post-secondary programs of study in French, including mobility between institutions.

As part of this project, the University of Sudbury adapted the means for delivery of two courses, on  indigenous studies and the other in French-Ontarian culture, in order to bring its expertise with students to the universities of Saint-Paul and York - Glendon Campus, which do not have access to a program in these areas.

The courses were adapted for delivery in “bloc” format, that is, condensed into a period of three weeks in Spring 2018, in order to offer students the opportunity to learn in a more intensive form and according to a more flexible schedule.

An agreement was concluded between the University of Sudbury, Saint-Paul University and York University - Glendon Campus, so that students coming from partner institutions could take the courses and earn credits in their respective programs.

The religion of the Indigenous Peoples of North America and The Folktale will be offered at the University of Sudbury campus from April 30 to May 17, 2018. Community participation and experiential learning will be integrated into the program. Students from the University of Saint-Paul and York University - Glendon Campus will have the opportunity to live in residences during their stay at Sudbury.
