It’s with mixed emotions that we share the news that Yvette Munro, ONCAT’s Executive Director, has accepted the role of inaugural Assistant Vice-Provost, Student Success at York University. While we celebrate Yvette’s success, the team at ONCAT and many of those who she has worked with across the province will miss her enthusiasm and resourcefulness championing student mobility.

Ms Munro will start her new position December 1, 2021. Over the past 4 years, Yvette’s leadership has helped us continue to build a strong credit transfer system for students across Ontario. The relationships developed and results achieved across Ontario’s publicly-assisted postsecondary education institutions have led to improvements with institutional transfer processes, the ability to track and monitor transfer data, new research partnerships and improved collaboration across the sector.

On behalf of the Board, we would like to thank Yvette for the excellence achieved with ONCAT during her tenure. She has built productive relationships across the post-secondary sector in Ontario and with Government partners, led strategic planning for the organization, focused on students as a priority, and supported a strong organization of professionals.  She also ably led ONCAT through the ongoing pandemic.

“Yvette Munro will be missed by everyone within the ONCAT organization.  She has provided strong leadership that has enabled a significant growth in student mobility pathways across colleges, Indigenous institutes and universities in Ontario,” said Deborah MacLatchy, president of Wilfrid Laurier University, and co-chair of the ONCAT. “We would like to extend sincere gratitude to Yvette for her ongoing leadership and strong commitment to collaborating with Ontario’s colleges, universities and Indigenous Institutes to further advance the credit transfer system and reduce barriers for all students” said co-chair, Ron Common, President of Sault College. “Her efforts have been instrumental in this important area. Although the last two years have been filled with change and challenges, Yvette continued to work diligently and navigate through the pandemic successfully.  We are grateful for her dedication and passion and we wish her all the best in her new position at York University.”

ONCAT will initiate a search for an Executive Director and has appointed
Andrew Wilson, Transfer and Technology Director and Shauna Love, Operations Director as co-leads through the transition.
